1. chels, you remind me of olivia palermo. you’re welcome ;)
2. i don’t wear jewelry. or i can’t/don’t know how. i never wear bracelets (unless my worn hippy-ish ones count). i kind of don’t like necklaces. i feel like they get in the way? earrings are my fav- but i only have a few i wear a lot. i wear the blue jem ring from carter&spence my mom and dad gave me every day, everywhere, no matter what. help&suggestions on how to be more fond of jewelry is welcome.

“you know i’m old in some ways- in others- well, i’m just a little girl. i like sunshine and pretty things and cheerfulness- and i dread responsibility. i don’t want to think about pots and kitchens and brooms. i want to worry whether my legs will get slick and brown when i swim in the summer.”—This Side of Paradise, F. Scott Fitzgerald
"you can fool all of the people some of the time, and some people all of the time, but you can’t ever fool your mama" - unknown.
chels, mom & me in rockport :)
so happy the weekend is finally here! have almost nothing planned, and that’s how i like it. kate & i are going to get a few toddies & see crazy stupid love (2nd time for me!) tonight.. & i plan on sunbathing/shopping/running for the rest of the weekend.. hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
on my morning drive to work every monday-friday i listen to the kane radio show.. if you live in the dc/nova area, you know who i’m talking about. kane talks about random/funny/controversial topics (based on news articles, weird facts/reports, personal experiences, etc.) and often people dial in to voice their opinion.. one of the topics this morning was about moms (or dads) who drink while their children have play-dates.. it was interesting to hear the differences of opinions.. there were those ultra-conservative parents who said they absolutely don’t/would never drink in front of the children, period. (not even a couple beers with pizza on a friday night!?).. then there were those who said, heck ya.. WHY NOT? it’s not going to hurt to have a few beers/cocktails while the kids play, right? well, i don’t know how y’all feel.. but on this i’m a little more not-so-conservative i guess. i know my parents - or at least my dad - would throw a few back at the pool while watching us jump off the diving board for the 462nd time or every friday night at springs (cc) when all the parents would get together to play tennis for hours/drink & let us run around outside until the sun went down.. i never worried about my mom or dad getting drunk (i don’t think i even knew what that was- other than dad getting a little silly-er than usual).. so with that said, you bet your buns i’m not opposed to having a few toddies with my girlfriends while our kids play (years from now).. ‘til then, i’ll just stick to being silly with my girls minus the munchkins.
one of my favorite blogs - Atlantic-Pacific - features Bee, a beautiful little fashionista living the sweet life in san fran..or so it looks like to me! her style is aaadorable - i love how she layers different pieces that i normally wouldn’t put together, but they look awesome on her (one thing: i’d toss the huge pearl/bobble necklace- sorry, but it’s just too big for my taste)
here are some of her outfits i’d loove to copy:
*her top is actually a dress! & now in search of bright colored pants for fall :)
love that skirt.
long dresses are growin on me! this one is gorgeous.
love all the different blues! def would wear this.
can i wear a big bow too?
would wear this everyday.
neons & neutrals!
love how she tied the pink bow around the jacket.. it pulls everything together so cutely!
stumbled upon this awesome blog today… “bitches who brunch” - please check out her site.. it’s awesome. meg is a journalist/artist who lives in DC (oh heyy girl!) & blogs about everything & anything that interests her.. specifically brunching (..with her bitches?) all around DC & destination spots! i particularly liked one post: “Brunch Dates” - who would’a thought brunch could be a great date?! i mean if you don’t go out too hard saturday night & feel/look like complete hell come sunday morning, why wouldn’t a little sunday(funday) brunch be the perfect ending to your weekend?! it’s not guaranteed that guys will actually be down for suggesting the brunch date, so this could be the one&onlytime that you could ask.. or mention how fun it would be to get a (few) pitchers of mimosas/bloodys & split a few appetizers on a sunny afternoon.. who doesn’t like to eat & get a little buzzed in the sun?! ;) so with that being said, take a look at her posts, [boys], and take your lovely lady out to a fun brunch on sunday! orr ta’hell with boys, get all your pretty bitches together, get a little dolled up & get a little crazy on a sunday.. wouldn’t be the first time! http://bitcheswhobrunch.com/brunch-guide-brunch-dates/
i think i’d like to go to eatonville, masa 14, la boum or ted bulletin…(don’t judge) actually anywhere outside on the water/with a view would be great, i’m not picky.. ;) where would you want to go?p.s. we went to georgia brown’s for dinner for my senior prom.. we were so weird.. haha
“the truth is that there are a lot of people like you, us, with strange hobbies or talents or gifts and we try to hide it because we are afraid that it makes us seem weird or it will turn people off, but that’s a mistake. what makes me unique has brought every person i love into my life.”—Ned, Pushing Daisies.
